Showcase Midnight Library sluit Academy-traject bij Improbubble afMidnight Library showcase wraps up my Academy course at Improbubble
Op 28 maart speelden mijn studenten de showcase van Midnight Library, en daarmee sloten we het Academy-traject af dat ik de voorbije maanden gaf bij Improbubble in Brussel.
Midnight Library is een geïmproviseerde theatervorm geïnspireerd door Matt Haigs roman: elke voorstelling volgt een nieuw hoofdpersonage dat, via ontmoetingen in een magische bibliotheek, alternatieve versies van zijn of haar leven doorleeft. In het traject stond vooral scherp luisteren naar je spelpartners centraal, en het opbouwen van geloofwaardige personages en relaties op scène.
Fijn om deze groep spelers een aantal maanden te mogen begeleiden, en trots op wat ze op de showcase lieten zien.
On March 28 my students performed the showcase of Midnight Library, closing out the Academy course I’ve been teaching over the past few months at Improbubble in Brussels.
Midnight Library is an improvised theatre format inspired by Matt Haig’s novel: each show follows a new protagonist who, through encounters in a magical library, lives out alternate versions of their life. The course focused on paying close attention to your scene partners, and building believable characters and relationships on stage.
It was great to coach this group of players over the past months, and I’m proud of what they put on stage for the showcase.
